Mid-century, European wall crucifix in ceramic, over eight inches tall. Hand-painted and glazed in bright and dark orange with black contours outlining the Christ figure and cross. The shape of the figure is surprisingly reminiscent of Keith Haring's iconic works, and with distinctly pop color. A one-of-a-kind, handcrafted piece that is part of a large collection of crosses made by Belgian artisan potters from the 1950s to 1970s. A unique decorative item for anyone interested in distinctive folk art or religious items as home decor.

DIMENSIONS

8.25 in. H x 5.75 in. W x 0.63 in. D

21 cm H x 15 cm W x 2 cm D

This piece has been curated from a large European ceramic crucifix collection. From modernism to brutalism, the unique pieces range from being as futurist as a modernist church to as raw as a brutalist building. Each artist offered a different take on the representation of faith through volumes and colors.

The collection offers an excellent selection for composing a custom wall of modernist crucifixes.
